What should be paid attention to when using a five axis rotating dispensing machine

Five axis (X/Y/Z+A/B rotation axis), capable of 3D dispensing on inclined surfaces, curved surfaces, and circular surfaces; Compared to ordinary three-axis systems, there are unique risks such as interference with the rotating axis, angle calibration, rotating glue throwing, and cable twisting. These risks are divided into seven parts: pre startup, programming and debugging, production operation, glue valve and glue path, rotating axis special, daily maintenance, and safety.
1、 Check before startup
1. Air source: The compressed air pressure is stable, the drainage filter is drained, and the air pressure is in accordance with the equipment requirements to avoid pressure fluctuations that cause the glue to fluctuate rapidly.
2. The power supply grounding is intact, and the emergency stop button is effective; The workbench should be free of wrenches, screws, and other debris to prevent collisions during movement.
3. Check the cables, air pipes, and drag chains of the rotating axis (A/B axis) for any pulling or squeezing; The rotary joint is not loose.
4. The rubber cylinder and hose have no leakage; The needle is not bent or blocked; Confirm the status of the mixing tube with two-component adhesive.
5. The environment should be kept as constant as possible, as significant temperature changes can cause zero drift. High precision production should try to control temperature fluctuations in the environment.
2、 Programming and Debugging (Five axis is the easiest to get stuck)
1. It is necessary to return to the starting point before teaching programming; It is strictly prohibited to run the program directly without returning to zero, or to collide with the aircraft directly due to the deviation of the angle reference.
2. Apply glue to three-dimensional surfaces and oblique angles, pay attention to the limit of rotation axis movement, do not exceed the positive and negative limits, and prevent cable twisting.
3. Prioritize low-speed simulation of empty running (without gluing) in programming, observe the movement of all X/Y/Z/A/B axes, and check for interference: whether the needle and glue valve will collide with the fixture, workpiece, and fixture.
Five axis not only looks at the needle, but also causes spatial collision between the rubber valve body and valve seat during rotation, while three-axis does not have this problem.
4. Corner and large angle rotation positions reduce the speed of movement, and high-speed rotation can cause centrifugal glue throwing, resulting in dirty product surfaces and poor wire drawing.
5. Mark point calibration: After replacing the needle, disassembling the rubber valve, or shifting the equipment, perform five axis calibration and visual calibration again. Otherwise, if the angle and position are offset, batch defects may occur.
6. First piece confirmation: After the empty run is completed, print the first piece, check the position, glue line width, and angle, and confirm that there are no errors before mass production.
3、 Production and operation process
During automatic operation, hands and tools are strictly prohibited from entering the device's range of motion; Adjust the machine and clean up residual glue. Be sure to pause or press the emergency stop button until all axes are completely stationary before operating.
2. Pay attention to abnormal noise and shaking of the rotating shaft; Stop immediately if there is shaking or abnormal noise, and do not continue production to avoid damage to the gearbox and servo.
3. Observe whether the rotation process throws glue; The glue needs to be adjusted by delaying the closing of the glue, increasing the suction, reducing the rotation speed, and checking whether the needle is worn.
4. Regularly inspect products and observe whether the position is offset; Loose fixtures, workpiece displacement, and zero drift can all cause defects.
5. UV glue production, confirm UV lamp wavelength matching, regularly check UV energy to avoid incomplete internal curing.
4、 Special focus on rotation axis (A/B axis) (different from ordinary three-axis)
1. Do not let the rotating shaft run at the extreme angle for a long time, as repeated twisting of the drag chain and rotating cable can easily cause breakage.
2. If glue splashes onto the rotating shaft, reducer, or servo flange position, it should be cleaned in a timely manner; Residual adhesive curing can block the rotating mechanism. Do not let the adhesive penetrate into the gaps of the rotating bearings and reducers. If necessary, install a simple protective baffle.
3. Rotate the joint and air path with A/B rotation, and regularly check the wear and entanglement of the air pipe; Do not tighten the trachea too tightly, leave enough room for exercise.
After disassembling and assembling the glue valve and needle, it is necessary to check the rotation center, otherwise the glue dispensing trajectory will deviate.
5. It is forbidden to manually twist the rotating shaft with external force, as it may damage the servo reducer. If you need to move it, please operate it in manual mode of the software.
5、 Rubber valve and rubber path system
1. When replacing different adhesives, the adhesive valve and pipeline must be thoroughly cleaned, and mixing of adhesives is prohibited.
2. Easy to cure adhesives (epoxy, AB adhesives), if the machine is stopped for more than the adhesive curing time, the adhesive valve must be disassembled and cleaned, and cannot be left to stand with adhesive. Once cured, the entire set of adhesive valves will be scrapped.
3. Regularly check the sealing ring of the rubber valve. The sealing ring with filler glue (silver paste, thermal paste) wears out faster, and should be replaced in advance according to the cycle. Do not wait for leakage before handling.
4. The glue should be properly defoamed, and the pipeline should avoid bubbles, which can cause glue breakage or shortage.
5. If the needle wears out or breaks, it should be replaced in a timely manner. The condition of the needle directly affects the consistency of the three-dimensional inclined surface dispensing.
